Tires BRIDGESTONE or Goodyear

Goodyear Tires

my LC has the wrangler duratracs. Great performance in winter here in Mn including true ice storms and black ice when it’s -42 like this weekend. You have to drive differently but they perform well and don’t require a full switch like a true winter tire.

Pros: great winter performance
Cons: suffer in Texas summers

BRIDGESTONE Tires

If you end up choosing real winters then Blizzaks or X-Ice genuinely transform the car as I ran Blizzaks on my old RWD coupe when I lived near Ann Arbor and it went from borderline undriveable to genuinely confident on unplowed roads.

Pros: genuinely confident on roads
Cons: borderline undriveable

I strongly recommend proper winter tires. At a minimum, at least get winter rated all weather tires. We had a lot of slushy bullshit build up today. The only reason I was able to get out of my neighborhood & make it to a Dr's appointment was because I run Blizzaks on my ND1.

Pros: able to get out
Cons: slushy bullshit build up
Vehicle: Mazda

I just replaced the original Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires on my model 3 RWD after about 16,000 miles and 2.5 years. They were down to about 4/32" in places and winter was coming.

I went with the Goodyear ElectricDrive 2's. I've only had them installed about 6 weeks ago so too early to tell about wear but they drive fine.

Pros: drive fine
Cons: too early to tell about wear
Mileage: 16000 km

Cons: pneu desagregado
Vehicle: Ford Focus

Our new 2025 CRV needed 4 new tires at only 9k miles. All 4 tires were cupped and fraying despite looking new. Felt and sounded like I was driving a helicopter.

Cons: tires cupped and fraying
Vehicle: Honda
Mileage: 14484 km
