Strut assembly KYB or GABRIEL

KYB Strut assembly

Looking at good quality replacement parts and non dealer labor ($150/hr), you can fix it for 6k. Sway bar links, shock absorber, control arm: $900 in parts (OEM struts, Mevotech Control Arms) + $150 alignment + 5-7 hours of labor.

Pros: OEM struts, Mevotech Control Arms
Vehicle: Acura MDX

GABRIEL Strut assembly

Get good parts: original ride quality, not economy, and probably KYB or Gabriel (Monroe has long been a decent brand, but people tend to question their quality these days, especially here on Reddit).

Pros: original ride quality
Cons: economy parts questionable
Vehicle: Mazda 6

KYB Strut assembly

I used the KYB Excel-G struts to replace both fronts on my MR2 Spyder until I got my BC coilovers and they’re fine. Not necessarily any harsher of a ride and they’ve seemed to hold up pretty decent (keep in mind your mileage really may vary as I only did a few thousand miles with them!)

Pros: fine ride, decent durability
Cons: limited mileage experience
Vehicle: Toyota MR2
Mileage: 4828 km
