Rating 4.5

I purchased my 98 with ~200k miles in 2017 and had my mechanic replace all struts with 5100s. I'm currently at ~275k miles and the 5100s appear to be in good shape so holding off on replacing those again.

Pros: good condition, long-lasting
Vehicle: Toyota 4runner
Mileage: 120701 km

KYB Strut assembly

I used the KYB Excel-G struts to replace both fronts on my MR2 Spyder until I got my BC coilovers and they’re fine. Not necessarily any harsher of a ride and they’ve seemed to hold up pretty decent (keep in mind your mileage really may vary as I only did a few thousand miles with them!)

Pros: fine ride, decent durability
Cons: limited mileage experience
Vehicle: Toyota MR2
Mileage: 4828 km

KYB Strut assembly

I put those on a 2011. They are slightly stiff but super easy to drop in both front and rear. Really great on the highway but a little harder than I would like on local streets with pot holes.

Pros: easy to install, great on highway
Cons: slightly stiff, hard on potholes
Vehicle: Lexus RX
