I got an Autozone Duralast one for my 09 LX and 2 yrs later after a lot of starts its still going strong.
No need to go OEM on part. Plenty of good refurbs out there. Think I picked up a Duralast at Autozone for $190.
I too have a 87 wagon. However, my experience with Duralast starters was with my 2005 Subaru. Was recently in jam and needed quick replacement then. The duralast was essentially a remanufactured part and seemed ok quality. Has been almost two months since installation and no problems at all.
Bro I had to pull a starter off an old F-250 for a friend. Only way to get anything on the top bolt was with 3 and a half feet of extensions from behind the cab.
Very common with these starters
Unfortunately a cheap starter with cheap plastic
That cheap flimsy thing?
It’s junk the day it was made
It’s shitty material and if the nut holding your signal wire on is at all too tight or a little rusty seized that piece will snap right off.
It's just the shittiest plastic on the starter motor.
