Denso Iridium plugs work perfect in 2.0T Got them from Autozone for $8 each, smooth idle at start up and when warm, great response, made in USA.

Pros: smooth idle, great response

I changed the spark plugs to Autolite Double Plat plugs from Autozone. The smoke cleared up and it is MUCH easier to keep cranked in the cold (30's F) in the morning. It still has a very light stumble every few cycles and a louder engine idle than I'd like, but runs good and seems to be much better.

Pros: smoke cleared, easier cold crank, runs good
Cons: light stumble, louder idle

Autolites last as long for me as the NGK's. Either of them last about 10k miles for me. Any longer than that and I start getting missfires. The Autolites can be found for about $1.00 each

Pros: last 10k miles, cheap
Cons: misfires after 10k miles
Mileage: 10000 km

Denso Spark plug

The original dealership where I bought the van installed Denso spark plugs part # SXU22HCR11S which were supposed to have a gap of 0.044 but they all had either 0.039 or 0.040. Apparently no one checked the gap before putting them in.

Cons: incorrect gap, poor quality control
Part number: SXU22HCR11S

Autolite Spark plug

I did the plug change for the first time on my Tig. Pretty easy and took maybe 30 minutes. tricky part was getting the wire harness/clips to release from coil packs. Just be patient and use a small screwdriver. FWiW, I used Autolite Iridium plugs cuz my local NAPA dealer was out of the NGK's and recommended these. The quality was really bad on my set.. The cathode (curved portion of the plug) was significantly off axis, misaligned. One plug was bad enough that I returned it for an exchange. These plugs get high reviews on Amazon, so I kept them in without any problem but will be going back to the OEM NGK's next time. My old plugs looked very good for 45K miles.

Pros: easy plug change
Cons: bad quality, misaligned cathode
Mileage: 72420 km
