Make sure the shocks you buy ars KYB. These cars are heavy and have a tendency to eat cheap shocks.

Pros: Good for heavy cars
Cons: Cheap shocks wear fast
Vehicle: Ford

Ive had the same set of KYB Excels on front/rear for the last 70,000mi. They have held up incredibly well. Stiff enough to handle payload but responsive enough to mitigate a pothole on commuter roads. I would buy again, the price is great and they've lasted years.

Pros: held up well, handles payload, responsive, great price, lasted years
Mileage: 70000 km

Kyb are some of the best shocks you can get in terms of quality and lifespan. That being said they’re known for being stiffer. I happen to like it since it minimizes body roll and improves handling. Better loaded performance when towing or hauling heavy too. But you will notice it ride a little harsher.

Pros: good quality, long lifespan, minimizes body roll, improves handling, better loaded performance
Cons: stiffer ride, a little harsher

KYB Shock absorbers

I've used them before a couple of times. They're decent for the price just don't expect high end performance valving in them. If all you do is daily drive it to work and back home and do your shopping in it. They are 100% fine and perfect for that if you wanted more of a GT car.

Pros: decent for the price
Cons: no high end performance

Bilsteins are probably best, unless you want to cough up a lot for fox. I have Gabriel premium right now. Pretty good, but not as good as Bilsteins.

Pros: pretty good
Cons: not as good

KYB Shock absorbers

I was expecting KYB to last way longer than this. The OEM struts/shocks on my 2007 Rav4 lasted 193k, and I replaced the front struts and rear shocks with KYB from RockAuto. After 37k miles (230k miles now), it's bouncy again.

Cons: short lifespan, bouncy ride
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 59546 km
