I am very happy with these shocks. Beating the crap out of them in a city that has potholes and roads that would swallow a Smartcar.
I had Bilsteins on my 2007 ranger when I bought it new from the dealer. I replaced them at around 93k miles, with more Bilsteins of course. I would recommend them if it is in your budget
I've just installed 5100s at all four corners. The new shocks nicely compliment my rear anti-sway bar and upgraded front anti-sway bar. My truck handles nice and flat on curves of all kinds.
I replaced all four shocks/struts with Bilsteins, reusing the Tein springs. This time the setup is awesome. Much improved handling and ride.
Had 4600s on my 93 k1500, and they were great until they wore out.
I've been impressed with the set of Bilsteins I have on my truck, and they're reasonably priced too.
The R also still had factory shocks and also needed to be replaced, so I went with Bilstein HD shocks all around. The HD's had awesome reviews and were cheaper than the Koni FSD shocks.
As an FYI, my car is lowered on VWR (almost twice the drop of driver gear) and has Bilstein B8 shocks as well, no other mods aside from the. I had zero problems with a Hunter drive-on alignment rack, and my tech was able to set the alignment to proper spec w/o issue. Car drives great.
Bilsteins - I have experience with since they were on my 2005 GLI from the factory and I loved how they handled. You could take that car into 45 mph corners at 60 and not a bit of sway or worry.
Right now I have progress springs with bilstein shocks and struts. I've had the setup for a couple of years and i'm getting tired of the rough ride.
