I do have B8's paired with H&R Supersport springs and H&R front and rear ARB's(rear set stiff and front to least stiff) on my MK5 GTI. Ride quality under normal daily driving is a bit harsher than stock...but when it is driven with demands for performance, it really comes into itself and gets more stable and reassuring at speeds over 140mph and when cornering.
recently convinced a customer to go with bilstein on his suburban and he has been ecstatic. I only use that brand in my stuff for sure. Made my xj at 6.5 inch lift ride smooth as butter
the on road ride of OME springs and bilstein shocks is amazing
I put bilstein 5100 on all four corners of my previous tahoe and replaced all the blown auto-ride shocks. Even with the maxed out keys up front and overall firmer ride up front with little to no downtravel, it still rode far better than stock.
Went to Bilstein and love them.
The bilsteins are a great upgrade over stock and are also the least expensive. They will offer a better ride than stock as well as take more of a beating.
I have APR springs and lowered the car about 3/4”, want Bilstein B8s. The Bilstein B8s don’t affect ride height from what I’ve read, only the springs do.
I just installed on my MY17 Sport... Bilstein B8 set w/H&R sport springs. Fitted with VW oem strut mounts and bearings. Also added a H&R 26mm rear sway bar w/ VW oem end links. I must tell you that the ride is just ever so.... on a scale of 1 to 10 and 1 is stock GTI, it's now a 3. I actually love the ride now more than what it was. The wallow cornering is gone and the braking is straight and true. No more brake dive during hard stops.
All I got with my Bilstein TC Sport shocks which are amazing btw were the nut and washer to actually bolt them in. I thought my bushings were shot but they were actually fine and I ended up not using most of the suspension install kit I got from kermatdi.
In my experience, Bilsteins are too stiff for the NB, they kept my car up and got like 1in drop with H&R springs.
