I made my own poor man's B12 kit! Except mine is now complete with badged housings and early top mounts. No bump stops in the front and vestigial foam stops in the back. I went mild on the cutting. The rears could go up a lot or down a little without cutting. Excited to see how she sits. Took some before measurements for what it's worth.
Monroe OESpectrums have a great ride and are very affordable.
Update, went with the Comfort (B4)s... and they feel great. Comfy.
Went with bilstein b4’s and eibach pro kit. Couldn’t be more happier
You can try new shock absorbers and springs in the back to start with, youll gain a bit of ride height and bounce control, make sure to avoir super cheap brands because they are not worth it, stick with Bilstein/kyb/sach/mando/ for shocks
B8 with lowering springs was the sweet spot. Less roll, squat, and dive with a controlled & comfy ride.
Yes, you can use OEM springs with the Bilstein B6. I have them on my MS3 and the ride feels much more planted compared to the stock shocks / struts.
For shocks themselves I went with Bilstein B4, also at 120kish and also for no reason as my stock shocks were fine, but they are also problem free at 155k
In my experience, Billstein shocks will not appreciably improve ride quality. They will, however, improve handling.
I put Monroe's on mine a while ago and I hate them
