I’ve always used 5w40 liquimoly with either a k&n or Mann filter.
I bought my oil online, liqui moly 5w30 at $113 and had it changed at jiffy lube for $25. 2013 535i.
$113 including a Fram oil filter.
Liqui moly ....run engine get hot pour in a can of ligui moly let run 10 mins drain oil replace filter and oil run vehicle 2500 miles repeat process
I run liqui moly and hengst or Mann filters myself.
I HIGHLY recommend 5k oil changes with a quality synthetic oil and factory oil filters. There may be others that are OK, but you are sure to have a good filter if you use a factory filter. Stay away from brands like Fram and anything from the quicky oil change places. The filters they use a not good.
I've been very surprised by how easy the Golf has been to work on so far, actually. Oil changes are super easy because the filter is a cartridge on the top of the engine, reservoirs are easy to reach and the battery doesn't require anything else to be removed to replace.
I just completed my first oil change on this car and it was a breeze compared to my MK5 R32. We have a bone stock 2018 SE AWD and I didn't even need to get the car on jack stands. Oil Filter, VW P/N 06L115562B
I changed out the factory fill today at 2,347 miles. I could not find any VW 502 oil in 0w30 locally, so I used Valvoline MST 5w40 which is certified for VW 502, so no warranty concerns. I also used an OEM VW filter which was 15 bucks delivered also on line, but I hope to find those locally for a bit less in the future. I could see small shiny specs of debris in the creases of the old filter, which is why I (and many folks) don't like to run factory fill oil very long.
Das original VW öl bekommst du für 10€/l auf ebay und den ölfilter wahrscheinlich für um die 10€.
Me too, so I went back to the stock size filter and the issue improved.
