Oil filter LIQUI MOLY or K&N

LIQUI MOLY Oil filter

I used Liquimoly 5w-30 when I was NA, and still use liquimoly 5w-50 since boost. A little pricey ($120) for 10qts but worth it. Oil filter, just a ford performance filter. Pretty much any auto store will have them or a comparable brand in stock. When I was NA I’d do oil changes every 3k miles or sooner depending on how hard I drove it. Now with boost the max I go is 2k miles. Normally 1k-1.5k since I drive it hard and run e85.

Pros: worth the price
Cons: pricey

K&N Oil filter

Picked up a K&N clean it every 5-6 months with my Pennzoil Platinum oil change. I got the filter with Ford loyalty points when I bought the car. Always use K&N.

Pros: reusable, easy to clean

K&N Oil filter

OEM. I order a bunch off of Rock Auto. Two of the K&Ns I've had leaked just the tiniest bit but enough to be annoying. Granted, I'm not on a stock turbo or stock by any means, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Cons: tiny leaks, annoying

K&N Oil filter

It\u2019s crap. Most filters are 20 microns; K&N have one that\u2019s 10. Put your money into getting a better oil filter instead of buying into the snake oil.

Pros: better oil filter
Cons: crap, snake oil

K&N Oil filter

I run the mobil 1 filter but oem is a good option. I used to use K&N but had the issue of not one but two of them leaking around the gasket.

Cons: leaking around the gasket
