Oil filter Fram or OEM Honda
Have used FRAM oil filters for 45 years, GMC trucks, VW, Honda, multiple Nissan trucks and never an issue all engines lasted till crashed or sold.
After the A01's ceased production I moved to Bosch and Wix filters.
I don't have it all figured out, but whatever my mechanic tends to install causes the engine to run louder. The A01 filters were much quieter, even than A02.
Also, I would just use Fram ultra synthetic for 5k mile oil changes. It has 99% efficiency at 20 micron, so it’s fine, and its 20k mile rating is obviously more than enough for 5k mile oil changes.
I've used the A02 filter many times, and got them in bulk from Amazon. They're good. When I buy from the dealer, I get a 003 instead -- fewer holes, and made by Tennex instead of Honeywell. I find it easier to get A02 on the aftermarket at a better price, so usually go with that.
I change my oil when the maintainance minder gets to 50% with 0w20 and a Honda filter and don't bother resetting it.
The regular cheapo orange Fram filters are downright awful, but their Synthetic line of filters actually rate quite well in testing. I have no problem using the Synthetic Endurance filters in my cars.
it only lasted 600km before I had issues with oil pressure.
Don't buy entry level Fram filters.
They got super cheap about 15 years ago and caused some of our club cars to have issues with pressure. So that was the end of that.
I have had two issues with Fram filters . One blow apart and another that loosened after the car was parked for a month
