Oil filter Fram or Mobil

Fram Oil filter

Also, I would just use Fram ultra synthetic for 5k mile oil changes. It has 99% efficiency at 20 micron, so it’s fine, and its 20k mile rating is obviously more than enough for 5k mile oil changes.

Pros: 99% efficiency at 20 micron
Mileage: 5000 km

I'm at 115k on my 18' Pilot exclusively using Mobile1 0W-20 synthetic (green gas milage label), changing myself every 8,500miles. I replace with the M1 advanced 110A oil filter and change the engine air filter + cabin filter as well, since new. Discard oil is dark, with a smell thats mild but says, "it's time".

Cons: Discard oil is dark
Vehicle: Honda Pilot
Mileage: 115000 km
Part number: 110A

I use fram filters, full synthetic 5w-20, for the last 150k miles. Total cost is like $25 at walmart. I am right at 210k miles now with oil changes EVERY 5k miles.

Runs good, but burns a quart by 5k miles.

Pros: runs good
Cons: burns a quart
Mileage: 241401 km

My brother had a car with an oil pressure gauge. Put a Fram in and he had zero pressure! Put in a different brand and it was fine. If he didn’t have a gauge he would have blown the engine.

Cons: zero oil pressure, engine almost blown

Fram Oil filter

I found one with tons of metal shavings from fabrication. I wrote to FRAM and never got a reply. This is for a Extra Guard filter, my go to back in the days... no more.

Cons: metal shavings, no reply
