Oil filter Bosch or OEM Toyota
$30 total.
$25 for 5qt oil, $4.5 for oem filter from Toyota dealership.
I change mine every 7-8k miles and use the best filter available. Just turned 336k miles on my 2001 Toyota
Oil changes full syn every 10k miles with OEM filters.
$48.11 is what I paid to buy the oil and filter at the dealership and do the labor myself. That's a genuine Toyota filter as well as a 6 quart case of Toyota 0W16.
I tried to buy a filter, a bosch is a decent choice, but I wasn't able to find it, or I should import it for 100 sar ( which is expensive, most filter sold for 20 to 50 sar where I live - saudi arabia -)
Make sure to change the drain plug crush washer if you don't do at the dealer and get good quality filters (Bosch, Mann)
The oem filters are kind of pricey here so I use bosch or fram ultra synthetic
they're not the best, but they are built exactly to Toyota's specifications. So, while it's possible to have an aftermarket filter not built to Toyota's specifications, an OEM filter is more-or-less guaranteed to operate as intended for your specific car.
The current Bosch 3323 oil filters are now made in Mexico and filter quality has decreased. I don't use the current Mexico made Bosch - I cut one open and it was a bit different than US made older ones.
