Oil filter Bosch or K&N

Bosch Oil filter

I've been using Castrol high mileage 5w-30 lately with Bosch oil filters. I suspect I don't actually have the one I wanted, just the Bosch model fits my V. I think their premium line is supposed to be similar to the Filtech design. I added the appropriate amount of Marvel Mystery Oil to the pan about 100 miles ago. I haven't been calculating mpg, but notice the b20 engine runs smoother.

Pros: engine runs smoother
Mileage: 235000 km

Bosch Oil filter

Any oil filter made for the car is fine, I bought Bosch P7078 just because it's available and a brand that I recognize.

Pros: easily available
Part number: P7078

K&N Oil filter

I've used AMSOIL Signature in my recent change in my 3.8 with a K&N Filter. I gotta say it's pretty damn good. Engine cranks right up and feels so much more smoother.

Pros: engine cranks right up, smoother

K&N Oil filter

Most cars in my house get cheap bulk ordered filters off RockAuto. Except the STI, that one has been getting K&N and soon switching to Wix. I’d never allow the oem trash cardboard filter near my car.

Pros: switching to Wix
Cons: oem trash cardboard filter
Vehicle: Subaru

K&N Oil filter

Mine was my oil filter! I used a k&n because they come with a oil change reminder sticker. Leaked like mad.
