I have experience with the long drain intervals from Amsoil. I have 2 dodge vehicles with 3.6L engines both at around 130,000 km and I use the signature series 5w20 with Amsoil filter and I go about 18,000 km before I change the oil.
Oem filter or wix WL10078. For oil pennzoil platinum or ultra platinum 5w30 (whichever is cheaper).
I used to strictly go OEM with the blue filters, but switched to WIX after watching this:No issues to report.. little more peace of mind
I do this every time. I buy my amsoil and filter and the dealer only charges me labor
I use Wix oil filters because they're cheaper than the Kawi ones, and I've used the wix brand for the better part of a decade and had no issues with it on any of my vehicles.
Make sure you pair the oil with a high-quality filter. I prefer Wix.
I've used Fram, Supertech, Denso, O'Reilly or Autozone store brands, WIX.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w/20 with Wix/Napa Gold filters. -been relentless about 5k services, @45k now.
-just received my first ever Blackstone Lab analysis, TBN numbers were still extremely good. Blackstone advised me to push my next service to 7500 miles.
-the oil that was sampled, was still a very light Carmel color - I feel guilty throwing away oil that still looks this good
I use OEM filters on both, but I’ll use Wix filters if I’m not around the dealer.
I have used Wix filters. Wasn't the biggest fan of the plastic end caps on the filter, but aside from that they worked just fine.
