I have experience with the long drain intervals from Amsoil. I have 2 dodge vehicles with 3.6L engines both at around 130,000 km and I use the signature series 5w20 with Amsoil filter and I go about 18,000 km before I change the oil.
Mobil1 0w20 and a Mobil1 Filter every 5k
I run M1 5w40 with an M1 filter.
I do this every time. I buy my amsoil and filter and the dealer only charges me labor
I’ve also used Mobil oil filters because they’re easily accessible and manufactured by Mann.
I always recommend using a synthetic oil and a Mobil1 Extended Performance filter every 5k miles.
I run this same oil and Mobil 1 filter in my 2009 Yukon XL with a 6.2 L V8 with 148k miles. I usually change my oil every 3k - 5k miles despite what the marketing says.
NAPA Gold filter (Wix) and Mobil 1. Great results on last two Legacys.
It is supose to be a good filter & the top of the line for filtering out small particles but not the best flowing. My car was a little more noisy with it so I switched back to VW filters.
I wanted to give you guys a little insight on my recent discovery. I have always changed my oil @ 10K miles, using mainly pentosin and Hengst or mann filters. On occasion when I don't have time to wait for oil to ship to me, I've used German Castrol and autozone filters (either STP, Fram or Mobil 1). The picture below is what my mobil 1 oil filter looked like after 9K miles w/ German Castrol. Mind you I have NEVER had a Hengst/Mann/Fram/STP look like this when changing my oil. Another tid bit of info, My oil was much blacker this oil change than it has ever been.
