Ignition coil Bosch or BERU

BERU Ignition coil

I use a BERU ZSE001 Ignition Coil, also in a '72. It's bomb-proof - zero starting issues after a lifetime (3 decades!) of bump-starting.

Only disadvantage is it doesn't like being left in the 'contact' position for long, which is not a problem for me.

Pros: bomb-proof, zero starting issues
Cons: dislikes contact position
Part number: ZSE001

Conselho: coloque bobinas originais Beru ou então Magneti Marelli. As demais bobinas pra K4M não são boas de acordo com todos os membros do Clube da Megane que precisaram fazer troca delas!

Pros: original parts recommended
Cons: other brands not good
Vehicle: Renault Megane

As per ignition coils, the only ones you should buy for N43/53 engines are Bosch. All the others (Delphi, Febi, HP etc.) are the same Chinese coil sold under different names, same issues as the counterfeit parts.

Pros: Recommended for N43/53 engines
Cons: Other brands have issues
Vehicle: BMW

I'm running Bosch and have been for 45k miles with no issues, even tuned running extra boost which demands more of the ignition coils.

Pros: no issues, reliable performance
Mileage: 72420 km

Few months ago I got all 6 OBD1 Bosch coil packs and it changed nothing for me other than a slightly smoother top end, I still have a slight misfire at idle.

Pros: slightly smoother top end
Cons: slight misfire at idle
