I've had APR coils for over 50k now. No issues at all. Done 3 track days on the coils, and 2 on both the coils and plugs. Been stage 2 for over 30k now.

Pros: no issues, track-proven, long lasting
Mileage: 80467 km

OEM Volkswagen Ignition coil

I started having some minor issues at about 45,000 miles (solved by changing the coils), and other people have had similar experience... So I change them that often.

Pros: solved minor issues
Cons: minor issues at 45000 miles
Mileage: 72420 km

The F revision was current as of April 2015 when I replaced all of the factory coil packs that were installed in my 07 2.5 Jetta. I had one go bad and decided to just replace all of them and the plugs while I had it all opened up.

Cons: one went bad

I have the APR coil packs installed currently (about 5k mikes on them so far) and I gotta say... Just stick with OEM. There is no benefit...

Cons: no benefit

I tried running them with the stock plugs awhile back and ended up with random misfires. Pulled them off and put the stock coils back on…no more misfires.

Pros: no more misfires
Cons: random misfires
