I have these and I like them a lot. Look OEM but not like any other MK7 I see, and I think they look better than OEM MK7.5 lights as well. I like that everything is included and you don't have to worry about separate HID kits.
One can buy them on eBay for just short of 1k. There is a fellow on YouTube who installed them here in the US, and he seems to like them quite a bit. They\u2019re excellent lights.
Depo at $140 each are excellent quality for the money!
Fit and finnish pretty good, the HID base reflector and the H7 base reflector are made out of metal. Also the shutter is made also of metal, something treated against corosion. The bi-xenon solenoid has no overheating signs in almost 2 years of use.
I love mine! Brightness is amazing compared to stock. So happy!
No issues with these lights. Plug and play directly out of the box, no error codes, works as expected. Very minor wiggle used to occur on rougher roads, but I have GLI springs, so the firmer ride may play a part in this.
Depo would probably improve on the design. Me and a lot of fellow Optima owners have burnt headlight bowls.
I just installed the Depo models: Overall quality is ok for the price I paid. I had to do some troubleshooting because the blinkers would not come on: 1. The female spade connector from the wire harness had to be crimped tighter so it made good contact with the male connector on the sides of the socket housing 2. And I also pulled the center contact inside the socket housing so it made good contact with the bulb once inserted. I like the light output compared with the stock headlights...now I just need to aim them.
I replaced my OEM headlights a few years ago with DEPOs (absolute crap) lights after an accident and the insurance wouldn't pay for OEMs. After a few years of degrading visibility (spiderweb cracks throughout the plastic covers/lenses and crappy reflectors to begin with) I'm tired of not being able to see at night. * NOTE * NEVER BUY DEPO LIGHTS guys.
I replaced the stock headlamps with Depo black euro headlights and was fine for 6 months, then the bulb recently blew up again! Shards of glass ruined the almost new headlamp! The wiring must be iffy since there has been some meltage, my guess is too much current on the right side.
