On my 2023 Highlander I was getting flashed by about 50% of oncoming traffic. I parked near a wall in the dark, put tape on the wall at the brightest spot. I lowered the lights a bit, perhaps about 1 1/2 inch, parked about 12 feet from the wall. I now get flashed by less than 1%.
I know for a fact that the lights on my Sienna platinum and my Model Y are extremely bright and very likely blinding. I know they are adjusted properly.
I just replaced mine on my 2013 with these OEM ones from ToyotaPartsDeal.com
Part No.: 81150-04220

~$465 shipped and no complaints
My lights looked about like yours before, and replacing them gave me a dramatic improvement in visibility. I knew the haziness was affecting my visibility, but jeez it ended up being a much bigger difference than I thought.
Install wasn’t bad, but you will need to adjust them after install, which is fairly easy.
If I had a Corolla where a pair of replacement lights can be had for around $100 and I have the mechanical ability to do the replacement myself I wouldn't fuss with restoring.
Toyota and Ford SUVs are notorious for this. I owned a Landcruiser Prado and was getting high beamed all the time. I went to Toyota and they said nothing was wrong but only when i begged them to adjust them a couple of clicks down did things change for the better. Night driving wasnt affected for me and I never got high beamed again. I then became very aware of the vehicles blinding me at night using their low beams.
There is a good chance you can take apart the unit with a heat gun and re-seal it ive done it before on Honda, Toyota, Ford, GM, Dodge... Those headlights are a good $3K a pop new in Canada for OEM BMW.
Water inside after first wash
Just got back from a 1200 kms trip in my 2024 bmw x5 m40i.I can confirm that the headlights are bad.Had a nasty sidewall rupture on the front right tyre because I couldn\u2019t see a pothole in the rain at night .
2007 Camry SE owner. I’m waiting for the catalytic converter to go out because this burns so much oil.
The headlights are awful - terribly dim and the dashboard melts.
BMW does it now as well. Headlight went out. 3300 part another 3000 labor. Found a replacement. And was told it won’t work unless dealer programs it but dealer won’t program unless we buy new from them.
