I swapped the Hella conversions in on my '87 16V last year. These part numbers worked just fine: Low beams x2 Hella 003177862 HLMP MOD 164X103 H4 High beams HELLA 003177821 164x103mm H1 High Beam Halogen Conversion Headlamp Kit
Might be an unpopular opinion but get a pair of Hella Vision Plus (1A6002395) H4 headlights, ceramic H4 connectors and 100/90w H4 bulbs. Night and day difference without messing with the beautiful classic look.
I have bought two used headlights from ebay before and had no issues. Just make sure the part number is the same as what your car has and that the label has "hella" specified.
hella 7” lamps that take a modern LED bulb for this exact reason, looks oem but headlights actually work
Hella H4 e-code conversion beam, full stop. Can run whatever H4 bulb you want, including LED retrofits if you want (don’t cheap out, I recommend Morimoto) but I find a good quality halogen bulb like Osram Nightbreaker Lasers are as good as if not better than most LED retrofits without requiring a harness upgrade.
I put a set of euro Hellas on my golf years ago. The US light performance was very good for the time but the euro lights were so much better.
As others have pointed out, the 2026 PP LEDs are the reflector type LEDs. When you're driving w/no other cars around you they seem okay. Then, when an LED projector styled vehicle comes along side of you, you'll notice that your PPs headlights are seemingly gone-overtaken by the projector styled headlights. I'll give them a 2.5/5.
I find the high setting is great, but low is lacking on side coverage. The fog lights help, but not as much as I like.
The lights must appear pretty bright to oncoming traffic, though, because I've had another driver flash their brights at me when they were already on the low setting.
I have had 3 Hyundai's leading up to this Honda and they all had better lights. I had a 2018 Accord Touring and I never thought those were great either.
this is not normal and happens only on modern made Hella headlights which are garbage. You will also experience extreme fading of the lens in a few years and a circle burned in from the projector shine. I've also heard about the inner black piece fading but can't say for sure because I haven't seen it myself (the other issues - I have) The quality has dropped insanely since the cars production era.
I bought new hella lamps and mounted them nearly half year ago. Any ideas why they are getting so steamy ? any fix? Im so dissapointed, this shit is pretty expensive
