Bought some TYC replacements for my 4th gen a few years back. They’ve held up well
TYCs still rocking without any moisture two years later.
I’ve used TYC many times and no issues to report.
I believe I have these on my S70 and they've lasted several years now with no visible clouding or any issues whatsoever. Good buy imo.
For what its worth, I had the Helix headlights on my 2017 GSW and yes, I had to set those up with HID ballasts and HID bulbs. I was able to tuck the ballast inside the back of the headlight and put the bulb access door/cover back on for a pretty clean install.
TYC is perfectly acceptable. I will say I have used TYC stuff in other applications where the connectors felt a little cheaper than the Hella OE, and the fit was not quite 100%
Just installed them, will have to see how they work out.
TYC headlights are trash and their sealant is the main cause of letting moisture in.
it's been driving me nuts that I've been getting condensation only in my passenger side headlight. They're brand new TYC aftermarket headlights and I have another friend with the same exact issue. Same brand, same side.
It's not leaking or anything. Just your typical condensation that doesn't go away lol. I've checked the breather valve (valve for venting the heat) and while it looks identical to the driver side, the holes are pretty small. I'm guessing it's not enough for the hot air to vent out, hence the condensation.
First picture is low beams Second high and low Third against a wall about 10 feet away ( couldnt find a dark enough place with enough space to do the 25ft) My main complaint is the dark and hot spots. There is no blend with the beams. You can clearly see the reflectors mirrored onto the street. (Worse in real life) Also there is no light thrown to the sides of the vehicle. Almost looks like a spot light They might not be adjusted perfectly but that is also due to the lack of quality. While adjusting the headlights one of 6mm hex screws came out. Another one appeared to not to be doing anything and then jumped a large amount and stopped adjusting. Im assuming they skipped a tooth or the internal adjusting screw came out of the reflector housing.
