RED LINE Gear oil

Really wish I hadn't waited until 37k miles to switch to Red Line MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 Gear Oil. Made so much of a difference and there was a ton of debris on the magnetic drain plug.

Pros: noticeable difference
Cons: waited too long
Mileage: 60000 km

RED LINE Gear oil

I order some new drain/fill hardware and the ever-trusty RedLine MT90! Get the car in the air and see dirty fluid on the bottom of the case near the drain plug.

Pros: ever-trusty
Cons: dirty fluid
Vehicle: Volkswagen

RED LINE Gear oil

The Redline shockproof gear oil line has performed very well for me in differentials, especially in endurance racing applications where a cooler IS NOT used.

Pros: performed very well

RED LINE Gear oil

With a bit of effort, the fill and drain plugs reluctantly spun free of their comfortable homes in the diff. The fluid that came out looked fairly fresh, so in went a bit of Redline 75W90 limited slip gear oil, because this is a true enthusiast machine.

Pros: fluid looked fresh
Vehicle: Subaru Outback

RED LINE Gear oil

I switched from Mazda oem to redline and it significantly improved the shifting into first and reverse. I'm very happy with redline so far.

Pros: improved shifting

RED LINE Gear oil

I decided on Redline MTL which has a viscosity of about 10.8cst. I can confirm just based on shifting feel alone that I prefer the Redline MTL to that Amsoil MTG. Actually I really didn't like the Amsoil MTG that much based on the shifting characteristics.

Pros: better shifting feel
Cons: shifting characteristics disliked
Vehicle: Volkswagen Passat B6
Mileage: 5000 km

RED LINE Gear oil

Redline Light ShockProof gear oil. Or Heavy Shockproof if you don't mind your gear changes being a bit notchy until the gearbox heats up.

Cons: gear changes notchy

RED LINE Gear oil

I disagree with any redline product. I've had 3 VW's always used VW gear oil, never a tranny problem. My Scirocco has 160,000 miles and the tranny has never been touched. Whenever I hear of someone haveing major tranny problems needing a rebuild I've always asked if they were using Redline, and the answer is always yes. See, it is much too slippery for VW transmissions. Yeah your gonna clear up your second gear grind and smooth up the shifts but you causing damage to other parts of the tranny like bearings.

Pros: smooth up the shifts
Cons: damage to bearings
Vehicle: Volkswagen Scirocco
Mileage: 160000 km
