They are bright enough at night to shine a little bit in the front of the car but by no means are they "good fogs." I find the headlights in this car adequate to not really need fogs but all the same, I like the look of them and they are not distracting to oncoming drivers.
I would recommend using an LED that has an external driver for the fog lights. The LED bulbs that are linked above don\u2019t put out near the same light output, as they use a smaller chip with lower flux rating. I used a Morimoto 2stroke kit I had laying around on my wife\u2019s Atlas, and the difference is amazing.
I had Hella 500 fog and driving lights on my Jeep. Good bang for the buck.
the Hella's work fine. Since I rarely drive with the fog lights on (only when it's raining at night). they do its job just fine.
I have Hella 500 fogs and installed them with the quad light bracket. I spliced mine into the factory fogs so one switch inside turns on all of them. It also meant that I didn't need to drill any holes in my firewall. I recommend it. It's relatively easy to do, and relatively inexpensive as well. You will need to cut the factory grill, though.
My F150. Foglights are now Hella Super Yellows and Headlights are Stage 2 Hella Arctic White.
when i bought the GLI the fogs came with it, but one was busted. hella wants like 50 bucks for a replacement lens, or 65 for a new full set. guess which i bought the hellas come with the rockshields, which are GREAT.
I set out to install HID's in my Hella Micro DE fog lights, which use a H3 bulb. If you've ever installed a \"drop-in HID kit,\" you'll know it's not quite that straightforward because the rear end of HID bulbs is much longer than a standard Halogen bulb.
I noticed only one foglight was lighting up. Went out and checked it and saw that the right side foglight has a hole in it, and is partially filled with water. An unfortunate end to the Hella lights.
i put in 100watt bulbs in my brand new hella smoked fogs, melted in 5 hours
