Later I came across a deal for a Mishimoto radiator and had that installed. I’ve had no issues with my Mishimoto, and I bought it before seeing most recommending the Koyo Radiator over Mishimoto.

Pros: no issues

In my particular situation I went with the Mishimoto radiator. Idk why it gets so much flak. Had no issues with install and it has been great. Now I use my 8 for autox so I needed the extra cooling. I can say that last weeks event it was 89 degrees out and even after a 2 hour drive and fielding for 4 mins to make my run; my ect was 200.

Pros: no install issues, great performance, extra cooling

I would bite the bullet and buy a Mishimoto all aluminum radiator that is literally plug and play, its way better than stock and there's no plastic to crack.

Pros: better than stock, no plastic to crack, plug and play

I put a Mishimoto rad in the R53 on the same terms as you @whalemingo - and only learned of Mishi's QC decline after I put it in the car. So far, it's been just fine.

Pros: so far, it's fine
Cons: QC decline

During Covid a lot of brand new genuine BMW parts had some issues so I had to change my radiator twice, was covered by BMW dealer after loads of back and forth. (There’s two part numbers for B48 engine main radiators and the dealer said the part number used was not meant for the car but the other radiator clearly wouldn’t fit)

Cons: parts had issues, changed twice
Vehicle: BMW

I despise those mishi radiators they take up too much space. Makes it hard to do anything on the front of the engine without ripping it out.

Cons: takes up too much space, hard to work on engine

I've replaced a radiator on a BMW 2018 3 Series with as little as 22k miles. This particular vehicle was leaking from the side tank of the rad, where the plastic is crimped to the aluminum. Nothing abnormal could be seen, just the crimp failed.

Cons: leaking from side tank
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 35405 km
