Engine radiator Koyo or Denso
I have a koyo radiator in my na6 with stock fan on it and it has no clearance issues. Probably wasn’t necessary for me currently but I’m going turbo after I spend more time driving it na so figured why buy twice and just went for the koyo.
My 2012 Sti with a Koyo aluminum radiator makes plenty of heat even down below 0°F
i used a denso radiator on a benz gle43. Worked out pretty well. I mean they are an oem supplier for many manufacturers.
You can get a koyo radiator for like $160 bucks. I have an Avalon that looks identical under the hood. If it takes you more than 1 hours start to finish something went wrong.
Denso and other OEM for me. When insurance wanted to throw Napa parts at my radiator replacement destroyed by a napping squirrel in the fan assy, I ponied up the difference to go with the Denso and mechanic confirmed it was a solid choice.
I went to the same thing this past summer(vegas) until I changed to koyo rad.
Aisin water pump, Mitsuboshi or Bando belts, and replace the radiator as a preventative measure with a Denso unit.
I replaced mine at 129k miles due to a small leak in the bottom of the radiator. I purchased an OEM Denso one on Amazon for 220 and it's been working great, no issues with trans temp as well.
the Koyo certainly looks much better. You won't notice any difference in cooling between the two.
The problem I'm running in to is that the upper hose connection is positioned differently on the Koyo N-Flow/dual pass(RH020539N) and it's really close to the Q45 throttle body and attached TPS. I've already cut off the unused socket on the TPS which gives me more room but still not a ton to work with.
