I personally run the valvoline, seems to be a tad quieter on the valvetrain.

Pros: quieter on valvetrain

Valvoline VR1 has zinc and they make a 20w50 for "race" application.

Pros: has zinc

I use valvoline 5w-30 full synthetic in my g35. Runs great

I use Valvoline Extended Protection, it's really good stuff

Valvoline VR1 for the track car. Valvoline VR-1 is a very highly reviewed oil with a high zinc content to keep race engines running with very minimal wear.

Pros: minimal wear, high zinc

I believe the final takeaway was that Valvoline Max protection was the best

I just switched to Valvoline EP 0w20 after using Mobile 1 all my life, for a very important reason...

...the easy to open top with a built in pour spout. So good.

Pros: easy to open top

For this reason I run Valvoline 20W-50 VR1 which has high zinc and phosphorus to deal with the extra loads the flat-tappets put on the camshaft vs roller tappets.

Pros: high zinc and phosphorus
