Engine oil VALVOLINE or PENNZOIL

VALVOLINE Engine oil

Just to share my experience on this oil, I am into my 2nd run on restore and protect (change oil at every 5000 miles interval), running 5w20, a 2010 pickup with 204800 miles. At about 3000 miles, the color of the lifters, spring and the walls became light chocolate brown, very noticeable, then I have noticed this oil is actually doing something.

Pros: helps to clean up deposits
Cons: oil drained off pitch black
Mileage: 5000 km

PENNZOIL Engine oil

Just finished my break in on Fridays, did a oil change on Sunday with w5-20 penzoil platinum. But I honestly prefer you go with anything besides 0w-20, it’s good and the OEM spec but everyone has seen issues with that oil and it can’t hold well in hot temps which is what this car really is meant to be at hot temps

Pros: using w5-20 penzoil platinum
Cons: 0w-20 can't hold temps

VALVOLINE Engine oil

No issues at 150k on my 6. I do not worry but do run pea type injector cleaner every 3-5k and use quality oil that helps prevent off gas issues like Mobil 1 and Valvoline

Pros: quality oil, prevents issues
Vehicle: Mazda 6
Mileage: 150000 km

PENNZOIL Engine oil

OP, love the choice of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Ultra Synthetic! Anyways, does the jug of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum seem a lot lighter than other 5 qt jugs of oil?

Cons: lighter than other jugs

I *always* find Pennzoil Platinum on sale for like $25-ish/ 5qt at either O'Reilly's, NAPA, or Walmart around the time I go to do my oil change. $50-ish total oil changes, never had any issues with any of my cars.

Pros: no issues, good price
