Engine oil VALVOLINE or AMSOIL

AMSOIL Engine oil

The best all rounder motor oils currently in the US are Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and Amsoil Signature, the latter you can run for at least 20k normal service or 15k extreme service.

Pros: all rounder, long service

If it's burning oil try a few change intervals with Valvoline Restore and Protect. It's supposed to remove deposits on the piston rings and reduce oil consumption.

Pros: reduce oil consumption

AMSOIL Engine oil

I got better results from signature 5w30 at 11,200 mi than I did from Motorcraft “full synthetic(lies) at 4300mi. So I change my amsoil at 8-10k and my Pennzoil ultra platinum at 7500.

Pros: better results, more protection
Mileage: 18031 km

VALVOLINE Engine oil

What I would do is have the oil changed but make sure you use Valvoline Restore & Protect and a new quality filter (OEM Toyota, Wix, Mobil 1). Drive the car about 1600km, then do the oil change again using new oil and filter, drive again for 1600km, do it a 3rd time.

Pros: quality filter, cleans sludge
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 1600 km

AMSOIL Engine oil

On a new car, I change at 750, then again at 3000, and after that I do my regular once per year or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, as stated on Amsoil Signature. I've been using this oil for decades in cars, trucks, and tractors. It's incredibly good oil.

Pros: incredibly good oil
Mileage: 750 km

I burn a little bit of oil and started to run the Valvoline restore and protect 5w30 in my n18 r56 with 178k miles (286k km). Hard to tell what burns vs leaks out though.

Cons: unclear oil consumption effect
Vehicle: MINI
Mileage: 286000 km
