Engine oil VALVOLINE or AMSOIL
Valvoline Synpower 5W40 I've been running this (VW 502.00 approved) in our '07 Audi 2.0TSI for over 100K mlies, 10K oil changes, and no issues.
Here is what I've been using on the Gen3 1.8t (2014 passat) - http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...otor-oil/european/european-car-formula-5w-40-synthetic-motor-oil/?code=aflqt-ea . Works really well with a 5K OCI.
Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic 5W-40, VW502 approved. I use it in our '07 A4 (over 100K miles) and plan to use it in our '16 GSW.
5W-30 Valvoline SynPower (full synthetic) and Mahle filter since I picked this car up at 89k in '11. Just cleared 175k last week.
Anyway, this guy starts talking about this brand, AMSoil, about how it leaves 1/3 the deposits of Mobil 1.
I use amsoil in my trans am. Never had a bad experience with any oil but everyone seems to love amsoil so figured it couldn't hurt. Especially with an engine that makes some power.
Just finally did my yearly oil change on my old faithful 04 wrx 177k miles last week. Put 14,370 miles on the signature series 0w40. Oil sample got in today. 31% oil life. Very little brass, relative clean oil. Waiting for my rod bearings to die but if this keeps up they might last a bit longer! Keep in mind I was using amsoils 25k mile oil filter aswell.
0w40 signature series amsoil. Went 9100 miles of hard, extremely hard miles 73% oil life remaining. Filter changes every 5k. Use it in all my turbo cars now.
I think what helped as much is the valvoline oil. Valvoline really agrees with my motor. Not sure why I have trouble with some of the other blends, but it's really quiet with the ashland add-pack.
A rotary engine builder in my city with 30 years experience absolutely swears by Amsoil XL 5w30. So that's what I use in my RX8 now.
