I used to have castrol but since i chiptuned my octavia i switched to ravenol and the oil temps went down a good bit and it doesnt use any oil but that could also be because the old oil was 0w20 and the new one is 5w40

Pros: oil temps went down

Last month I replaced the valve stem seals and it helped massively with the smoke. It doesn't really smoke much anymore, there's definitely still small puffs when taking off quickly, but nothing that I can see in the mirror.

Pros: helped massively with smoke
Cons: still small puffs
Vehicle: BMW

OEM Audi Engine oil

I don’t drive my car enough to hit any of the reasonable mileage points. I change my oil yearly, roughly around the time it gets inspected. Might be overkill (last year the car moved 2k miles, the year before was 2.4k), but I figure the $80-85 I pay is worth it. My wife’s Q7 will be getting its oil changed every 5k miles. It’s a 3.0T supercharged and they love to eat oil, I’d probably add half the oil back just to make it to 10k.

Pros: yearly change, peace of mind
Cons: overkill for low mileage
Vehicle: Audi Q7
Mileage: 2000 km

OEM Audi Engine oil

Over here in Germany changing your oil every 3k miles in a normal A4 absolutely tanks your resale value. The only reason to do this frequent oil changes is to hide problems. Personally my car did 30 000km(~20k miles) until 91 000km and then every 15 000km(~10k miles). It's a diesel and almost all longish distance highway trips.

Pros: long intervals, good for diesel
Cons: low resale value
Vehicle: Audi A4
Mileage: 30000 km

RAVENOL Engine oil

I was planning to but returned it. It was listed as a GL4 oil on the website but when it arrived, there wasn’t a mention of the GL4 on the bottle. Had a look at a technical spec sheet of the product online and it isn’t a GL4 oil indeed. Ravenol is quality oil however

Pros: quality oil
Cons: not GL4 oil
