Mobil Engine oil

Mobil 1 extended performance 5w-30. I don't drive many miles and I want the extra life of the oil in months. Plus Mobil 1 is factory fill on my LS2.

Pros: extra life of oil

Mobil Engine oil

I love the Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 for normal duty. It meets the latest 504.00/507.00 VW standards (newer than 502/505), and is specifically designed for diesel motors. Turbos are tough on oil, and diesel oils take prolonged periods of high heat much better.

Pros: high heat resistance, meets VW standards

Mobil Engine oil

I use Mobil 1 full synthetic(type 4)20w50 in the summer and 10w40 in the winter(we range on temps here widely, hence the change in oil viscosity by the season).

Mobil Engine oil

I've used 0W40 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic from the beginning. I have Blackstone Labs constantly analyze my oil. It started with several 5k mile analysis and then I upped it to every 7.5k miles. The oil analysis came back very healthy on all 5k and 7.5k mile analysis, and led me to up it once more to every 10k oil change interval which it will remain. I use the larger Passat 1.8T oil filter. The engine has almost 170k miles on it and still running strong.

Pros: very healthy oil analysis, extended change interval
Mileage: 273588 km
Part number: 0W-40

Total Engine oil

Total 5w40 took care of me to 8k with a 3071R. The oil is pretty decent stuff and not terribly expensive. I like their gear lube in my boxes. I run it in everything from my MKIV/B5 to my 07 Impreza 2.5i

Pros: decent stuff, not expensive
Mileage: 8000 km
