Mobil Engine oil

I go Mobil one with my Mobil one oil. I run the euro blend in my 2010 WRX because it's high miles turbo so it's 0w-40. Car seems to love it.

Pros: car seems to love it
Vehicle: Subaru

Mobil1 is available at Walmart for about $25 for a 5 quart jug. I change mine every 6k miles per the manual (used oil lab analysis shows that\u2019s more than adequate for me), and when I had a rod snap at 114k miles, all the bearings looked new, so the oil was clearly not to blame.

Pros: bearings looked new
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 114000 km

You need the specific VW spec 0w-20. It has a bluish and green hue. Its for fuel economy and warranty, also for stuff like the fuel filter and the intricate other parts of the engine, running regular 0w-20 may cause problems.

Pros: for fuel economy, for warranty
Cons: may cause problems
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I wouldn’t go with 0W20. Most people thicken the oil up in these when they start getting excessive oil burning. Lots of folks running Rotella 5W40. I ran it for years before I got tired of paying the premium price.

Pros: thicken oil, excessive oil burning
Cons: premium price

These engines need 40w either 5w40 or 0w40.. I ran 0w40 Mobil 1 syn euro formula for the 60k miles I had my GTI, it's cheap and readily available in 5qt at Walmart, thinner on cold start up it when hot is still 40w, it's also the factory recommended by Porsche

Pros: cheap and readily available
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 96560 km

It depends on what ur using the car for. I’ve used super tech, Mobil 1, and pennzoil and haven’t found a single difference in feeling, temperatures, or oil consumption.

Pros: no difference in feeling
Cons: no difference in temperatures

I tried Rotella when I first had my truck but it kept smelling like it was burning so I went to Valvoline Full Synthetic since it’s certified for Cummins.

Cons: smelling like it was burning
