Engine oil Mobil or RED LINE

Mobil Engine oil

I've been on the Vortex for quite some time and remember several years ago a Vortex member sent in samples of used oil from their VR6 to a lab for testing. They used Mobil-1 Tri-Synthetic and Valvoline SynPower (both in ~4000 miles) in the same engine and sent in the samples. It's been so long ago, I don't remember the specifics on viscosities etc., but I do remember how Mobil-1 did not hold up well at all compared to Valvoline. In fact, it was stated in the results that after 4000 miles, the Mobil-1 sample was unusable.

Pros: Valvoline held up well
Cons: Mobil-1 unusable after 4000 miles
Mileage: 4000 km

RED LINE Engine oil

Wear values perfect ! Looks like Redline is lowering the Moly value some . Your nox is normal but new plugs or wires could help lower the values, Oxd is elevated by cleaning effect of the POE base and lab equipment hates Redline, no problems though. Second change on this oil will drop OXD values. As I said before I have not seen this formulation before but it looks ROCK solid. Good TBN retention.

Pros: Wear values perfect, good TBN
Cons: lab equipment hates Redline
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 5000 km

Mobil Engine oil

I run 0w40 Mobil1 year round. I used to use 15w50, too thick for me. Car runs a bit cooler (oil temps) and revs easier with the 0w40. In the cool months, it gets up top nice and fast. No problems, I like the stuff.

Pros: car runs cooler, revs easier
Cons: 15w50 too thick
Vehicle: Ford Fusion

Mobil Engine oil

Changed it for Mobil 1. My owner's manual specifies API CD oil, so the mobil 1 should be fine (says it is suitable for CF applications).

Pros: suitable for CF applications

Mobil Engine oil

API (SF) oil usualy contains way more detergent than Diesel CF grade oil. I'm not sure what this kind of oil can do to your engine... But I would suggest using Mobil Delvac 1 oil.
