Engine oil Mobil or OEM Toyota
I use the Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 which is synthetic *and* meets JASO, just because it is always available at the nearby Walmart.
I use M1 5-30 because I've ran it in well over a dozen cars and beat on all of them without issue, and it's only $28 for a gallon jug at walmart. I also run liqui moly ceratec to silence the typewriter tick it developed around 35k.
I recall mobil1 going red being normal.
Perhaps using a lower weight, full synthetic engine oil would build pressure faster and reduce the noise.
Mobil 1 ESPx2 is the right choice here. The regular 0W-20 does not carry the VW 508 00 approval, whereas the ESP one does. It’s a great oil to use!
Just get Mobil 1 0w-40 better then all of these
Mobil 1 fully synthetic, multi-grade oils only.
Mobil 1 15w-50
My ‘15 Golf Sportwagen ate a quart Mobil 1 between oil changes. Not the case for LM.
I learned mobil 1 is the absolute worst oil to use in Subaru engines, especially ej257. Simply because it is good oil but because of the poor oil cooling the detergents burn in the engines causing premature wear.
