Engine oil Mobil or OEM FORD

Mobil Engine oil

Changed it for Mobil 1. My owner's manual specifies API CD oil, so the mobil 1 should be fine (says it is suitable for CF applications).

Pros: suitable for CF applications

Mobil Engine oil

API (SF) oil usualy contains way more detergent than Diesel CF grade oil. I'm not sure what this kind of oil can do to your engine... But I would suggest using Mobil Delvac 1 oil.

Mobil Engine oil

Here's something kinda interesting, when using Mobil 1 5w30, I experienced a higher rate of oil consumption than with Mobil 1 0w-40...I was losing approx .5 quarts every 2k miles...the 0w-40 loses nothing between 3k...

Pros: 0w-40 loses nothing
Cons: higher oil consumption
Vehicle: Volkswagen Bora

Same here. My oil temps are on average 20 degrees F cooler with the 5w-40 as compared to Mobil 1 15w-50.

Pros: cooler oil temperatures

I switched my GLI to Mobil 1 at 105k and experienced no external leakage. I noticed only a minor increase in oil consumption which was back to 'normal' by the next oil change.

Pros: no external leakage
Cons: minor increase in consumption
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 105000 km
