Mobil1 x1 1000 15w40 in all my cars. My engines are clean and quiet, oil pick-ups don't clog, there's a nice permanent oil coating everywhere.

Pros: engines clean and quiet

Mobil Engine oil

I'm apparently the least informed person here (never done an oil analysis), but FWIW I seem to be fine with Mobil-1 0w40 on a 996.2 with 208k miles.

Pros: fine with Mobil-1
Vehicle: Porsche
Mileage: 334745 km

Mobil Engine oil

Throughout the summer I was averaging a quart every 750-1000 miles, still using Mobil1 15w50 & Viscoplus. This winter it dropped back down to 1 quart every 500 miles, but as the weather has warmed up, my consumption seems to have decreased again. I think that had something to do with the oil, which was admittedly way too thick for cold weather. I would let the car warm up a couple minutes before driving because that oil is syrup in cold weather.

Pros: good consumption in summer
Cons: too thick for cold
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I'm running Amsoil 5w40 or Castrol Syntec 5w40. I ran Mobil1 10W30 a few times and I heard too much valve noise. When I opened the oil cap after driving around on the freeway it was smoking..which I'm not all that happy about. So I stopped using this oil.

Cons: too much valve noise, smoking
