Upping your oil change intervals to 5000kms wouldn't be a bad idea. I use motul 5w40 and haven't had issues
You must use Mobil 1 0W40!
Go for 5W40 rating. They work the best for all BMW diesel engines. I’d recommend the Mobil 1
Both are good, the high mileage and the restore and protect. I personally run Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic with a wix filter and it has been great for me.
04 Silverado, 186k been using Mobile 1 full synthetic for the last 10+ years. Runs great!
My 02 Avalanche has has mobile 1 full synthetic it's entire life, and has 750k miles on the original engine. Never been opened or rebuilt. Piston slaps like a diesel on start up, but still running great.

I recently switched to fully synthetic motul 7100 10w50 too, which did help a little, but didn't solve the issue.
Mobil 1 for me is like water in this car. I ran it for the longest time till I was tuned but switched over
