I use and recommend Liqui Moly 5w40 leichtlauf. It's LL01 approved and is really good quality.

My 2012 Golf TDI with the DPF stuff states that it **MUST** have 507 00 5W30 spec diesel oil, not 505 00 or anything else.

Pros: proper spec oil

Cons: ridiculously expensive

E92 Changed the oil with Liquid Moly 5w40 and a Wix air filter and drove from Texas to Colorado. 39.2 MPG average!

Pros: good MPG average

I run the 5w-40 in my 2004 Audi A8 and both of my power strokes just because it's handy and the diesel grade oil is overall better than the other synthetic I was running in a 0w-40 weight.

Pros: diesel grade oil, better

Just got my first Blackstone oil report on this engine. LiquiMoly 5W/40, 9,098 Miles. Here' s their comment: "We think you've got the oil change interval dialed in pretty well, but with results like these, you could push it a little if you wanted or needed to.

Pros: oil change interval dialed

Cons: viscosity is low

Mileage: 9098 km

I have used the LiquiMoly kit and it seems great. Awaiting my Blackstone oil analysis from the first oil I put in...ran it for 9000 miles, which was more than I had intended.

Pros: seems great

I paid $90 for the 9 liters of liqui moly OEM oil my s5 requires and did it myself.
