Fuchs Titan 5w30
I run the 5w-40 in my 2004 Audi A8 and both of my power strokes just because it's handy and the diesel grade oil is overall better than the other synthetic I was running in a 0w-40 weight.
My experience with oil consumption - 5W30 VW - First oil used by me in this car - 2000km - 200 ml added 5W40 Fuchs Titan Race Pro S - Now in the engine - 1000km - Same level as it was at the revision
Fuchs Silkolene. Good stuff.
My 15 S4 has seen 3 oils in <10k miles. The factory fill was Fuchs. Dealer first change was PP Euro and my latest change the other week was with M1. I've run M1 0w40 Euro in my B5 forever and have had 0 issues with it. Saw no reason to not continue running it in the B8.
Dark oil is actually a good thing believe it or not. It means that the oil is doing it's job and holding all the contaminants in suspension. In fact if my oil would look clear at the oil change I'd be very concerned and most probably change the brand.
i changed mine @62k miles with similar results. i to change my oil around 5k and was useing m1 0w-40, but just recently started useing fuchs titan oils.
I've posted my UOAs on TDIClub and BITOG. The factory fill was additive depleted at 5400 miles. The Fuchs 507.00 in the next fill was good for 7-7500 miles. It might have gone longer, but I changed it out in advance of a long trip. Bottom line is that preliminary evidence is that the 507 oils are inadequate for extended OCIs in the 3.0L motor.
