My oil changes have been all at the dealer, at 15,000KM (about 9300 miles) intervals, Castrol Syntec.

Pros: low oil consumption

Vehicle: Volkswagen Beetle

Castrol Syntec 5W50 is what I use in my car, and it didn't burn any more oil or leak at all when I made the switch at around 123,000 miles... I change it every 4,500 miles or so..

Pros: no leaks, no burning

Mileage: 123000 km

I switched from valvoline 20w50 to castrol. No problems since. Before, my temp was going haywire. Castrol solved it for me.

Pros: solved temperature issue

Cons: temp was going haywire
