Engine oil AMSOIL or OEM Audi

AMSOIL Engine oil

Being an AMSOIL dealer and my enthusiast knowledge of vehicles (not a master by any means), I would say that the consumption is very normal due to the very thin viscosity of 0w-20 oil.

Pros: consumption is very normal
Cons: thin viscosity of 0w-20

My T/A 392 has seen 311°F. ????. I added a bigger oil cooler after that.

I was running 0w40 Amsoil Signature, no metal in the filter.

Pros: no metal in filter
Cons: high oil temperature
Vehicle: Dodge

I'm a loyal Amsoil user. I usually change my oil every 5k miles. However, 3 oil changes ago, I started sending samples to Blackstone.

First Analysis: paraphrased, engine looks great

Second Analysis 5k miles later: Engine Looks great, Oil still has plenty of life

Third Analysis, another 5k miles later: everything looks great, try waiting 8k between oil changes.

Pros: engine looks great
Mileage: 8000 km

I just put Amsoil High Mileage, 0w20 in my 2012 Camry to see if it will benefit my engine with 221,000 on it. I switched from Mobil 1, which I used for years changing at 5K intervals, but had to keep topping off very often. The engine flush was excellent, the oil I drained only had 1500 miles on it and it came out looking like liquid coal! So a cleaning did take place, I'll see how it goes.

Pros: engine flush excellent
Cons: topping off very often
Mileage: 1500 km

I also wouldn’t run motorcraft period in my 5.0, in the words of a friend who’s a master mechanic “they sell cars not oil”. Just some food for thought, I did run it until he gave me this one line, I now run amsoil and my 5.0 and 6.2 and 3.0TT are all much quieter, for what ever that’s worth

Pros: quieter engine

AMSOIL Engine oil

Me running 5w50 Amsoil SSO full synthetic or 0w50 Eneos or 0w40 Amsoil SSO if being used in winter (down to -40F, and yes, I've driven these cars down to that cold)

Synthetic is better, always. Higher not viscosity has better shear protection. A good additive package that has great shear protection lets the housings wear slower.

Pros: better shear protection

This is the second time I had put Amsoil in my scooter and I had to post the findings over here for my fellow scooter riders here.

The performance jump is noticable, my access now pulls pretty graciously post 60 km/h before it was more noise and less acceleration with Castrol 5w40 synthetic. You can feel the acceleration in your bum and hands when you twist the throttle after 65 or 70 which is where most if the 125 cc scooters flat out due to lack of power.

Even doing top speed for more than 1 hour in highways you will feel no vibration thats how smooth the engine+Amsoil combo is.

The smoothness of this oil with this suzuki engine is next level my friend who borrowed my scooter for a day (apache rider) said it feels like riding an electric scooter that's how smooth it is. So do try!

Pros: performance jump is noticable
Cons: Castrol experience was meehhhh
Vehicle: Suzuki

im actually running that oil right now... I hate it tbh. 3,100 on the oil and it has allowed excess engine noise since day one, SUPER harsh cold starts, and now its burning through faster than the catrol I ran when I first got the car. a WHOLE QUART over 750 miles. the oil is thinner than piss going in, and it just doesnt stand up to what my engine can put out like Shell Rotella T6 has been doing...

Cons: excess engine noise, harsh starts
Vehicle: Audi A3
Mileage: 5000 km
