I’ve had my Thinkware F800 Pro for almost 6 years now, it’s been installed in 3 diff cars and worked great in all of them. Dual channel (front and rear cams), motion detection, parking mode, the works with 1080p vid quality.
I’m a fan of the Viofo A129 Duo. I have one hardwired in both of my cars. Parking mode, 4k front and 2k rear resolutions, fairly easy to hardwire myself, and the app is ok.
I lived in Vegas and last couple years before leaving I had Viofo A129 Plus. Never had a problem.
Thinkware has been great for me
Another vote for VIOFO A129 Plus Duo. We're well into our second summer with it, and haven't had any issues at all.
I have the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo and have been very happy with it. I stuck mine to the windshield and rear window with the included 3M double-sided tape and it has not come loose.
I've had a Thinkware F800 dash cam and rear cam on my windshield for 4 years and it still works perfectly. I just have it connect to the aux power outlet and used the sticky mount it comes with.
I have the VIOFO A129 in two cars. It has worked for me so far. One of those cameras is going through its second summer, and is still working.
I finally have my dashcam installed today! What I did is pretty much what Jadar did here except I didn't open the A-pillar trim. It was too intimidating to me. So I modded the USB cable instead: I replaced the middle part of the USB cable with 22 gauge 2 pin wire I bought from Amazon. This size of cable can be pushed between A pillar and windshield very easily (with the help of a trim removal tool). I also didn't buy a factory hard wire cable. And instead I used a 12v to 5v buck converter that draws power 12v battery and outputs with a USB type A female port. The dashcam of my choice is viofo t130 so I get both the front view and interior view in a very small body.
I have a few. The two models are the VIOFO A129 Pro dual and Thinkware U1000. I prefer the Thinkware. The plug layout on the VIOFO is annoying and I feel that the app for Thinkware works better.
