Dash cam VIOFO or THINKWARE

VIOFO Dash cam

I use a VIOFO E1 Pro because it’s smaller and there’s barely any real estate on the front windshield.

Pros: smaller size

I’ve got a viofo 119 mini in mine. I wired it to the outlet in the passenger footwell and tucked the wire into the trim (pulled the a pillar). Great cam and you can’t tell it’s there.

Pros: great cam, discreet
Vehicle: Mazda

I use the Viofo A329 front and rear on both of my cars with the hard wire kit. It’s a 4K 60 FPS front sensor, and HD rear camera, and with the hard wire kit it automatically starts with the car and turns on parking mode. And they have an adjustable low voltage control so it won’t drain the battery if parked for a long time. Great clarity at night and works well for capturing fast moving objects with the faster sensor.

Pros: great clarity at night, auto parking mode

There are two advantages to using two single channel dash cams rather than a two channel dash cam. Redundancy, and longer record time. Any dash cam is better than no dash cam. The best dash cam I am aware of is the Viofo A329, It does better than most at night, but all dash cams are bad at night (motion blur and over exposed license plates). You should also check out this web site: https://dashcamtalk.com/

Pros: better at night than most
Cons: bad at night (motion blur)

I just went through this process of trying to find one. I ended up with the VIOFO A229 Pro w/ back camera and has the ability to add an interior cam. It's likely to last several years and the components wshould hold up against future competition, top tier video quality, lots of features. Price and size. It's big compared to the compact models but I don't see it at all from the driver's side. It's not ignorable from the passenger side. For a smaller form, I'd go with the VIOFO Mini 2. High quality compact size, but it doesn't have a 2nd channel for a rear camera.

Pros: top tier video quality, durable components
Cons: expensive, large size

VIOFO Dash cam

My VIOFO A329S has been problematic. The problems I’m having are that the cam will disable, without warning, any parking mode settings leaving the cam shut down when parked. You have no way to know that’s happened. It also beeps a lot for no reason that I can tell. I’m ready to return this thing and get a refund. I thought I’d give this camera a try due to it smaller footprint on my windshield as compared to my old Vantrue I feel like I made a mistake and a costly one of that.

Cons: disables parking mode, shuts down, beeps a lot
