Cabin filter Tesla or OEM Nissan

OEM Nissan Cabin filter

Cabin air filter is something you need to replace periodically. $130 seems high but I have tried it myself and found it to be a PITA. I took it to a dealer, who charged something like $100 but it felt worth it to me.

Pros: worth the cost
Cons: difficult to replace
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

OEM Nissan Cabin filter

I got a 2019 Nissan Versa Note and found one on Amazon for $15. I have a cabin filter that I am going to replace, I’ll Amit it is in an awkward place. YouTube is friend.

Pros: found on Amazon
Cons: awkward place
Vehicle: Nissan Note

OEM Nissan Cabin filter

I bought a second hand Leaf off a dealer a few years back and they called me up wanting to service it for ~$350 & I'd looked at the service schedule & seen it was due a cabin filter and washer fluid check, so I did that myself (tbf the air filter was pretty gross, but only cost me like $30 from SCA)

Pros: easy to replace, cheap
Cons: air filter was gross
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

Tesla Cabin filter

‘21 Tesla Model Y, I’ve needed an air filter change with coil cleaning, another coil cleaning I did myself. Set of tires at 25k miles. Currently at 30 k miles and only other thing I’ve done is refill windshield washer fluid.

Pros: minimal maintenance
Mileage: 30000 km

Tesla Cabin filter

Anything where a cheap maintenance item is hard to access. The cabin air filters for the model 3 are pretty buried, and they’re one of the few things you have to replace. More often than other cars, as they tend to collect water in there and start to stink.

Pros: easy to replace
Cons: collect water, start stink
