Brake pads TRW or OEM Audi
My Golf has TRW and Zimmerman which are like OEM+ maybe
People can talk all they want but I had a 2017 A4 bought at 32k miles and sold with 94k 2.5 years later in 2022 and it was by far the most reliable and hassle free car I ever had. Nothing but routine maintenance, in that period I didn’t even have to change the brakes.
I’ll be switching to TRW Ultra pads when the time comes. All reviews say they are similar in performance to OEM without the dust.
I use TRW brake pads (just checked, articles are GDB3592 for front, GDB2172 for back). They make quite a lot of brake dust during spirited driving, but that’s not a big deal for me (IMO more brake dust = less wear on brake discs).
I can recommend TRW „DTEC“ pads. Almost no brake dust, no squeaking, good bite on the breaks. The only trade of is that when it’s really cold or raining and you drive on the highway for a long time, the first half of a second when you break again the performance is weak. That’s what I experienced. I never had this with the original pads in winter time or heavy rain.
happy w trw ultra
I’ve been using trw ultra no dust,no sound and they stop real quick
There is a lot of markup on those parts. A full set of TRW pads for an S60 can be had for a little over $200 inc GST from Repco and Repco ain't cheap.
My two biggest issues in my car is the lack of horsepower and the brakes.
As someone who has a TTRS, the brakes blow. Heavy, overheat, poor feel, and expensive rotors/pads.
