Brake pads TRW or Duralast

I’ve always run Dynamic Friction or Centric myself. I have no complaints from either brand, both preform well, quiet, seem to last (which will obviously vary by how much you’re driving/stopping), and they get the job done.

I went with TRW Ultra ceramic pads and Zimmerman rotors from FCP Euro for my S90. It was a big upgrade from OEM in my experience.

I had warp issues with my 2010 Sport MT until I bought these pads and rotors from AutoZone: Duralast Elite pads DE1394 and Duralast Gold rotor 3295DG. This was two years ago and parts were $160 and labor was $80/hour (cheap around here...Philly) for a total around $300.

I have the TRW ceramic brake pads on my E92 and they are excellent.

I'm only now replacing the pads & rotors *for the first time* during my ownership. The rotors won't pass inspection, but I'm shocked to find that the pads still have 7/32"-8/32" left. As it turns out, I've been running Duralast Gold rotors & Duralast Elite pads the entire time.

That's a phenomenal track record for the amount of "spirited" road I put past this car.

Got TRW pads from FCP, they work really well!

I got the ceramic TRW pads from FCP euro. You can find them from ShopDAP, VW dealership, etc. There’s multiple OE suppliers that all work great: TRW, Pagid, Textar. You can also go for the semi metallic equivalent if you want a little extra bite. I believe they all come with the wear sensor, you can simply cut it off at the base and pull out the wire. I’ve done this twice now, no problems. I suppose you could use the advance auto ones if you already have them, but just know they probably won’t give you as much bite as the stock pads, and may end up causing some warping over time since they aren’t designed for the heat temps.

Job got done in about three evenings Biggest time sinks were figuring out how to use the caliper piston compression tool and getting my overtorqued/rusted lug nuts off. Drove up from Maryland to NYC with no problems so I think I did the job right.

I put Duralast gold's on all my vehicles. Got a good warranty and come with all clips and brake grease you need. They're ceramic also, so quieter and more smooth braking and significantly less brake dust. Last quite awhile (1-2 years) as long as your not heavy braking all the time. And they're not too expensive either, moderately priced. Plus a bonus, they're black and match my paint.

Only ever used the gold pads but they seem fine, nothing special but not unsafe either.
