I switched from oem to EBC slotted rotors and StopTech "Street" pads about 20k miles ago. I won't be switching back. Firmer and more immediate initial bite, more consistent brake feel, and no brake fade even when carving up the canyon. This with good lifespan for the pads, zero noise, and low dust. I do have to be mindful when braking in traffic though, as the pads took about ten feet off of my 60-0 stopping distance and the performance tires a few more, and I don't want to end up wearing the vehicle behind me. I have a '16 sedan and only changed the front brakes out.

Pros: firmer bite, consistent feel, no fade
Cons: shorter stopping distance
Vehicle: Mazda 3
Mileage: 20000 km

I personally run the StopTech 309's on just about all our cars, even my SO's Sentra. The price is good, usually about the price of OEM or NAPA replacements. There's a good initial bite, but it's not overbearing. And most of all the modulate well - which is what you want for autocross pads.

Pros: good price, good modulation

I've swapped between Stoptech street pads and Carbotech XP-12 for a few years. The Carbotechs (race pads) would require some bedding in whenever they go back on the car. The rotors surprisingly lasted much longer than on the Carbotechs alone (I daily drive the car). I suspect it's due to the ideal working temperature of the Carbotech compound.

Pros: rotors lasted longer
Cons: Carbotech bedding in

My 06 GTI had the rears wear out at 70k. The fronts lasted until 135k. I was completely dumbfounded that the rears wore faster and the fronts lasted that long. I replaced everything with OEM parts and am experiencing similar wear on the new stuff.

Pros: OEM parts replacement
Cons: rears wear faster
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 70000 km

There was a noticable increase in stopping power, but it came with a significant increase in brake dust. They also started squealing recently. I recently checked the pad life and it's been okay. So far I've put 10k on em, and I'm estimating that 1/3 to 1/2 of their life has been used

Pros: increased stopping power
Cons: increased dust, squealing
Mileage: 10000 km

I installed Stop Techs in my 2016 WRX at around 10,000kms. Didn't notice much difference. Hated them, squeked a bit when new. But they left brown dust on my nice clean gold rims and I hated that. Swapped the stockers back in and again didn't notice much difference in stopping, maybe i had to push slightly more to come to a stop. But so glad I don't have shit coloured brown front rims.

Cons: squealing, brown dust

Mileage: 10000 km
