WAGNER Brake pads

Rating 5.0

The best pads out there right now are the Wagner OEX pads cuz they're built on a galvanized steel backing plate with a mechanical fastening system for the friction material instead of glue. They don't rust out like plain steel pads

Pros: galvanized steel backing plate, no rust

Wagner OEX brake pads are some of the best around. They're built on a galvanized steel backing plate to reduce rust and the pad material is connected to the plate with a mechanical attachment system instead of glue. Wagner is a Tier 1 supplier to several carmakers.

Pros: best brake pads, durable, rust resistant

Raybestos Brake pads

Replaced my front and rear brakes about a year ago with Raybestos (ceramic) and have been happy with it. Stopping power has been great. Didn't realize how bad my brakes were until I put these new ones in.

Pros: great stopping power

I’ve had Powerstop Z36 Impression: just average

Hawk LTS. Impression: very good

Raybestos Element 3. Impression: similar to OEM

Now I run Raybestos “Truck & Medium Duty” front & rear. They’re very good: low dust, low noise, good performance & pedal feel.

Pros: low dust, low noise, good performance
Cons: average performance

WAGNER Brake pads

Rating 4.5

Wagner, Centric, Raybestos, Akebono are all very reliable brands. However, each one makes an economy, OEM and premium version. So don't go by brand name alone. Wagner OEX pads are premium quality. They're built on galvanized steel backing plates with mechanical attachment versus adhesive to keep the friction material on.

Pros: premium quality, durable

I put Wagner on mine. They have been good for around 35k miles on them so far. I don't see me replacing them for another 15k. I didn't like the OEM one and braking is really one of the weakspoints for the Mazda 6.

Pros: good for 35k miles
Cons: OEM pads disliked
Vehicle: Mazda 6
Mileage: 35000 km

Raybestos Brake pads

Just replaced rear brakes on my ‘15 rogue with Raybestos E3 pads. I really had to force the pad into the new hardware clips. I did a quick google search and his seems to be an issue with E3 brake hardware. The original brake pads were also really tough to remove before I put the new ones in.

Pros: null
Cons: difficult installation
Vehicle: Nissan
